I see “check-ins” on Facebook all the time followed by something like “Zumba, and kickboxing is finished, now it’s time for a run.” Some will look at that and say “that’s great” others will see that same post and think “if that’s what I have to do to lose weight I’m screwed.”
The truth is there is such a thing as too much exercise. Your body needs time to recover from the last time that you exercised. The current exercise guidelines for adults recommends 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity. These guidelines are the baseline of what activity should be not the maximum. How much you should exercise is based on your goals, and your daily caloric intake subtracted from your daily calorie output.
For a healthy adult 30-60 minutes, 4-5 days a week of resistance training mixed with cardio should be sufficient for you to hit your goals if you are also keeping your eating habits under control.
You can do it, crush your goals!
